Looking Forward to 2022 at Specialised Canvas

This year has been a year of challenges, growth, and development here at Specialised Canvas Services. We started the year amid another lockdown and the final weeks of the year are presenting more adaptions that all businesses will have to face as the COVID-19 issue continues.

However, we’re keen to focus on the positives that have come from the last 12 months and are keen to share some of our big news from 2021 and some interesting statistics from our busy production facility in Chesterfield.

Looking forward to 2022, you’ll be glad to hear that we have no plans to slow down. The Specialised Canvas team will continue to provide outstanding service to domestic and commercial customers across the UK, utilising our skills and experience to produce first-class canvas products and contract sewing.

On top of this, we’ve got big plans to evolve our products and services even further, putting our customers at the forefront of our plans and considering how Specialised Canvas’ changes can be of great benefit to our clients.

Outdoor Leisure

Even before COVID-19, more and more British people were seeking holidays in the UK. The influx of searches and bookings of ‘staycations’ has been rising steadily each year and can be largely attributed to affordability, hassle-free travel and holiday scenery that can still be found in the UK.

We believe 2022 is going to be another popular year for UK based vacations and know that our product lines of Pop Top Vehicle Roofs, Bespoke Canvas Walls, and Glamping tents and awnings will continue to grow. Thanks to the investment made in expanding these areas of production, Specialised Canvas are poised to embrace these markets and offer a wider range of products and services to support the needs of customers enjoying their downtime in the UK.

The next 12 months will also see Specialised Canvas work more with commercial customers in the outdoor leisure industry and provide first-class made-to-order products to transform outdoor spaces that can be enjoyed by holidaymakers all year round.

Product Development

Specialised Canvas is much more than just a manufacturer. Our goal is to help our customers find the ideal product for their needs and this often means working with clients to design and develop something brand new.

Our factory floor boasts a department dedicated to experimenting and developing new products. Our talented team are passionate about understanding the strengths and capabilities of our chosen materials, production methods, seams, stitch lengths and more.

Our previous works cover a variety of industries from medical research to sports equipment. Over the course of 2022 Specialised Canvas is keen to work with even more commercial customers and develop prototypes and new made-to-measure products that are professional, stylish, and above all else, functional.

Sharing with Our Customers

We’re incredibly proud of every product that leaves our doors and this year we’ve loved sharing some of our projects with our customer base. From the repairs and maintenance we carried out for Yorkshire Wildlife Park to the multi-pocketed bags for Emergency Services response teams, we’ve had great feedback about showcasing the skills and hard work of our team.

Looking into 2022, we are keen to continue showing off some of the interesting and challenging projects that we work on. Our Job of the Week page will grow with more stories and videos, giving you a sneak peek behind the processes of design, manufacture and customer relations.
