Business Development Executive - Vacancy

Specialised Canvas Ltd has an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading print businesses as a Business Development Executive.

The company provides a service in designing & manufacturing Industrial textile products. The products are supplied to customers in many sectors including, Construction, Automotive, Offshore industries, Retail, Leisure, and others principally for UK clients.

 

Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £21,000.00-£24,000.00 per year

40 hours per week: 8 hour shifts | Monday to Friday

Business Development

General Information

  • As a business development executive, you will build and develop meaningful communication channels with customers and key figures in the print & signage industry, operating from our busy production facility in Chesterfield.
  • Working closely with the Group Marketing Manager and divisional sales teams, the Business Development Executive will support sales and growth efforts, and create long-term value, for the Banner Box and Flagmakers brands.
  • This role will be heavily office-based and focused on lead generation, primarily using phone, email, and social media. There will also be an element of local networking involved.

 

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Researching businesses, individuals, and industry trends to identify potential new clients.
  • Contacting potential new clients using phone, email, and social channels to seek out the appropriate contact, gauge interest and plan meetings.
  • Using industry networks, telephone communications and online research to identify, generate and qualify new sales leads.
  • Consult with the wider team in responding to new business opportunities and preparing relevant information using industry systems.
  • Supporting the development and execution of a company’s marketing and branding strategies
  • Communicating with prospects and customers via company social media channels including Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
  • Attending networking opportunities including conferences and industry events.
  • Increasing lifetime customer value through winning back lapsed and dormant business.
  • Conduct detailed customer research to gain a better understanding of the marketplace.

 

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The desire to be a high performer; driven by results and places emphasis on quality over quantity.
  • A proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Superb attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Motivation to hit targets and win new business.
  • Confident on the phone and not afraid to hear no.
  • Previous experience in sales and the print and signage industry would be advantageous but not essential.
